04 / Commercial intermediation

Keep the conversation moving. Keep the roles clear.

Support commercial introductions and transaction discussions with a defined scope, a clear communication trail and transparent responsibilities.

Discuss a commercial situation

Support for a specific commercial discussion

A buyer may need help communicating a requirement. A supplier may need a structured introduction to a potential opportunity. An existing discussion may need someone to coordinate questions and consolidate the commercial terms.

Intermediation starts by defining the purpose of the engagement and the parties involved. We do not promise introductions to a particular buyer, privileged market access or a guaranteed order.

Representation must be agreed

Acting as a point of contact is different from having authority to bind another business. Any appointment to represent a party needs a written scope and explicit limits. Without that appointment, decisions and contractual commitments remain with the relevant parties.

The proposed arrangement should explain whether UCF is supporting one side, introducing the parties or coordinating a defined workstream. A change of role must be made clear before it affects a decision.

Fees and interests should be visible

The basis for a service fee or commission is agreed individually. The agreement should identify the paying party, the event that makes a fee payable, what the fee covers and any conditions or exclusions.

Where another commercial interest could affect the engagement, it should be disclosed and addressed before proceeding. Confidential information supplied by one party is not automatically available to the other.

Make the communication useful

A concise record of the requirement, questions, answers and changes helps reduce misunderstandings. We support the flow of information without treating unconfirmed statements as agreed contract terms.

Technical acceptance, credit decisions, professional advice and final contract approval remain with the parties or their appointed specialists unless a separate scope expressly says otherwise.

Begin with the issue you need to resolve

Tell us who the relevant parties are, what stage the discussion has reached and what support would be useful. Avoid sending third-party personal data or confidential pricing that you are not authorised to share.

The initial result is a proposed scope and next step. A representation mandate, exclusivity arrangement or fee agreement is never created merely by submitting an online enquiry.

GOOD TO KNOW

A few practical answers.

Does an introduction create an agency relationship?

No. Representation and authority require a separate agreement.

How are commissions calculated?

The fee basis is negotiated for the engagement and documented before the relevant work or commitment.

Will supplier information be published?

No. An enquiry does not authorise publication of identities, commercial terms or documents.

YOUR NEXT STEP

Let’s start with what you need.
